We’re forever on the lookout for awesome looking fortresses of solitude here at Coolector HQ and, let’s face it, they don’t get much better than one that, on the face of it, floats. Well, that’s exactly what we’ve got on our hands with this excellent looking piece of design called MIMA Light and if you’ve got space to accommodate one, you’re definitely going to want one in your back garden.
As the son of an architect (but utterly abhorrent at drawing and design ourself), we inevitably take an innovative design projects and with the MIMA Light, it’s really hard not to be impressed. Billed as the ultimate achievement in modular construction, this cracking piece of design boasts an exterior that gives the illusion of floating through a clever use of mirrors.
The MIMA Light takes its design lead from the minimalist sculpture of artists such as Donald Judd, John McCracken and Robert Morris and if you’re after a genuinely unique looking piece of design in which to relax and unwind, this could just be it. Check out a few more shots below:

If you’re a fan of quirky pieces of architecture and design then the MIMA Light will be firmly up your street and whilst there’s no word on prices on this bad boy yet, we’ll definitely be interested to see how much one will cost because we’d certainly want to make one of these floating structures our next creative workspaces.
